Undergraduate Sociology Club
The Sociology Club at UB is a student-organized body composed of students majoring or minoring in Sociology, and those with a serious interest in Sociology. It is designed to provide an informal atmosphere for discussion within academic and social settings. Guest speakers, career workshops, field trips, and pertinent social issues are important areas of interest for the Club. The Sociology Club is governed and directed by Sociology students. Officers are elected in the spring of each year. A faculty advisor is also elected at that time.
The primary purpose of the academic program in sociology is to enhance students' analytical abilities and understanding of social phenomena. The club was created for the purpose of providing students a place that is conducive to the discussion of sociological ideas. The sociology club is also a place for students to network and gain information about graduate schools, professional conferences, job opportunities, and mentoring relationships with colleagues and professors.
